Tracy Michailidis

TRACY MICHAILIDIS is Greek in heritage, a New Yorker, and also a proud Canadian. She has deep belonging and love for each of these places; all different parts of her. It's perhaps one of the reasons she's drawn to music theatre---the way music, acting, and dance all come together to make up a whole. She made her start as a professional actress exactly thirty years ago donning the red braids to play Anne Shirley at the Charlottetown Festival, and returned back for a few more years while she completed her Drama degree at Queen's University. She has gone on to work at theatres across Canada, the U.S., and internationally. She is a four-time Dora award nominee, winning for Life After at Canadian Stage/Musical Stage Company. Thirty years is a long time, so it's hard to pick favorites, but some of her most beloved acting experiences include: The Light in the Piazza (Theatre Calgary), Disney's Beauty and the Beast (Broadway, U.S. National Tour), Fiddler on the Roof (Stratford Festival), Mary's Wedding (Magnus Theatre), Fun Home (U.S. National Tour), Kiss of the Spider Woman (Eclipse Theatre), Angels in America (Winnipeg Jewish Theatre),Into the Woods (Talk is Free Theatre), Emily (Charlottetown Festival), and Indecent (Studio 180). She was the Artistic Director of Musical Works in Concert, which assisted in the development and production of 23 new Canadian musicals over seven seasons in Toronto. She is a passionate educator, and serves on the faculty of the Wesley Balk Institute in Minneapolis,  the faculty of MTCA (Music Theatre College Auditions) in NYC, and runs her own studio in Toronto. She is thrilled to be returning to Corner Brook, a corner of the world beloved to her since she first came here in 2018 for 'I do, I do!' with Jonathan Monro as her co-star, and Gary Graham as musical director.
